Your Life Mission

What is your life's mission? How do you answer this question in a way that is possible or attainable? How will you know this is the right mission statement? You are the only one who can write it and know if it is right for you.

A life's mission is something that we must live and continue to explore and develop. It is something we "experience", not just a statement or thoughts we write down. It can be the first step to finding a balanced life of family, work and community. When we begin to live a life that works, we are ready for a business that works. With a foundation of a balanced life that is functioning, we can approach our business differently. Our business can now be a vehicle to achieve our life's work.

It is not a program, process or a game plan, rather the quest of becoming a complete human being.  If you think of it as a business plan, you will not continue the journey out of frustration when you miss some of your targets.  A life’s mission should continue to evolve and to be explored.  We can only hope to find the essence of ourselves and then find some real meaning to our lives.

What does it mean to get a life?  How does it look?  It must involve all aspects of us as a person: emotionally, spiritually, physically and mentally.  What does it mean to be able to say I have lived my life completely? What if I die and have not lived my life completely?  What has been the focus of my life?  Most of us cannot make the connection to a life mission and our business mission.

Michael Gerber of E-Myth Worldwide asks, “Are any of us capable of being truly alive?  Can we ever experience the complete reality of being alive?”  How will I know if I am there?  Maybe the discovery is really the only thing that matters and we never will be done or complete.  However, in asking the question, we continue to experience being alive and in the quest, discover what is important to us in our life.  The song never ends.

We must continue to not ask, “Are we there yet?”, but rather “What’s around the river’s bend?”  So let us start the journey now.  Right now!  The journey has begun and your best days are in front of you as you “Get a Life!”
